About Michael R. Abram

Michael R. Abram is a Lutheran pastor, author, Bible teacher, and former psychotherapist with a passion for helping people discover the beauty, unity, and hope of Scripture through Jesus Christ.

He serves as pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church in Torrance, California, where he has spent years preaching, teaching, and walking alongside people through life's joys and struggles. Before entering pastoral ministry, Michael practiced psychotherapy and was a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors. His background in both counseling and ministry has shaped his desire to communicate biblical truth with clarity, compassion, and confidence in God's grace.

Michael is the founder of One Good Hour Books, a publishing and teaching ministry dedicated to presenting substantial biblical topics in an approachable format. His goal is to help readers engage Scripture deeply, even if they only have one good hour to devote to a subject.

He is the author of Into the Winepress: A Christ-Centered Guide to Revelation, Repentance Is in the Hug, and the soon to be released, The Candy Cane Christian. His writing explores themes such as the Kingdom of God, the Cross, repentance, grace, the Church, and the Book of Revelation. Throughout his work, he seeks to show that the Bible tells one unified story centered on Jesus Christ.

Michael's study of Revelation has developed into what he calls the Into the Winepress framework, a Christ-centered approach that understands the Cross as the interpretive key to the Apocalypse. His articles and studies examine topics such as the winepress, Babylon the Great, the Millennium, the New Jerusalem, and the Church's mission, always seeking to let Scripture interpret Scripture.

In addition to writing, Michael teaches on the Ascension Lutheran Church YouTube channel, where he offers Bible studies, sermons, and devotions to help believers deepen their understanding of God's Word. His website, One Good Hour Books, continues that ministry through articles that answer common questions about Scripture and introduce readers to the broader framework behind his books.

Whether preaching, writing, or teaching, Michael's desire is the same: to help people see the victory of Jesus Christ, trust the goodness of God, and discover that the Lamb who was slain is also the Lamb who reigns and calls believers to follow Him into the winepress.

Thank you for visiting One Good Hour Books. I hope these resources encourage you to open the Scriptures, ask thoughtful questions, and rejoice in the hope that is ours in Christ Jesus.
